Scouting for Food

posted Dec 14, 2020, 2:12 PM by Pack 33 Admin

Every year the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts work together for their Scouting for Food drive in order to support the Westborough Food Pantry. This year, more than ever, many families are relying on the food pantry to help them get by. Our boys were proud to collect bags on November 14th to help with the effort.

Camp Resolute Camping Overnight

The volunteers of Pack 33 really pulled off a great camping trip, amid a unique world situation. They made sure we were able to social distance while hiking, orienteering, tying knots, playing human foosball, eating around the campfire and star gazing.  Scouts is a wonderful time and these boys are making tons of memories!

Pack 33 had a safe, socially distant September pack meeting at Lake Chauncy. We had our usual flag ceremony, awards and announcements, and a super cool game of HUMAN FOOSBALL! Scouts is happening and the volunteers of Pack 33 are working hard to give our pack a great experience this year.

Fishing with Friends

On Saturday August 8th, Pack 33 went fishing!  It was a great way to connect as a pack, while maintaining social distancing. And it was a beautiful day to boot! That's the great thing about Scouts -- so many activities are outside.

We parked along Minuteman Park on Upton Rd and took to the shore of Sandra Pond.

January 2020 Freeze Out

posted Mar 5, 2020, 12:08 PM by Pack 33 Admin   [ updated Mar 5, 2020, 12:36 PM ]

Pack 33 had our annual Freeze Out camping at the Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury on the weekend of Jan 25 - 26. We met around 11am, did an opening flag ceremony and then cooked and ate lunch. Afterwards, the pack went on a hike and then worked on a rustic frame project when they returned to Henderson Lodge. The scouts had some time to run around and check out the site while the Webelos helped prepare dinner which was pasta and Jambalaya in a cast iron Ductch oven, prepared on a fire. Because of weather, the fire program took place indoors that night with skits, songs and a story by Mr. Clegg. The Scouts made orange cakes (baked a cake in a hallowed out orange) and then a few headed off to Webelos Woods rustic cabin (no heat, water or bathroom). One hardy scout slept in a tent!  We hope you enjoy the pictures from the weekend and look forward to seeing you all again for our freeze out next year!

Webelos 2 - January Den Meeting with Outdoor Survival Skills

posted Jan 31, 2020, 12:23 PM by Pack 33 Admin

Webelos 2 had a fun January meeting working on their outdoor survival skills, which included starting fire with flint and steel.
They also (not pictured) "rescued" Mr. McDonald from the Bowman Conservation Area, and quickly learned that you cannot hear people yelling (better to whistle!).
And moving around when lost is bad. Great job scouts!
