January 2022 Pack Meeting - ice safety and fishing!

posted Feb 27, 2022, 12:10 PM by Pack 33 Admin

While Pack 33 has always loved being outdoors, the current pandemic conditions have made us more creative in planning our pack meetings and ways to keep us all engaged and safe. The committe planned an awesome January pack meeting where we met at Sandra Pond/Bowman Preserve to learn about ice safety and ice fish. The kids had a blast and loved slipping and sliding on the frozen surface.

2021 Scouting for Food

posted Jan 16, 2022, 3:06 PM by Pack 33 Admin

Pack 33 joined the other Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in town for the annual Scouting for Food drive to help stock the Westborough Food Pantry before the holidays. Cub Scouts were assigned routes and drove around town picking up bags left out on our generous neighbors' doorsteps. They then drove over to the food pantry where the Boy Scouts were waiting to unload cars and help load and weigh the donations inside the pantry. Over 7,500 pounds of food were donated in ONE DAY from our wonderful town. The Scout Oath: "On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight." This was all of that and more. Way to go scouts!

posted Jan 16, 2022, 3:02 PM by Pack 33 Admin

Our November Pack meeting was all about the Veterans! Our opening activity showed the kids how to appropriately fold an American flag. Then we had a Veteran from the Marine Corps talk to the Pack about being in the armed forces, the different branches, and show off some of the cool uniforms he had. The kids were able to ask lots of questions (there were many!) If you are interested in joining scouts you are welcome to one join us at a pack meeting any time!

Another great October campout for Pack 3033. We learned archery (earning the rank shooting badges), played some Gaga ball, looked at planets through a telescope (saw the red spot of Jupiter and rings of Saturn), and of course a great campfire program with skits and songs (oh, Tom the Toad!). Pack 33 is the place to be!

2021 Pinewood Derby!

posted Apr 19, 2021, 2:05 PM by Pack 33 Admin

On April 10, 2021 Pack 33 had their annual Pinewood Derby event. The volunteers did a great job making the PWD happen safely amid our COVID guidelines - our awesome leaders were able to work with with the church to LIVE STREAM the races from the basement to the folks upstairs so they didn't have to miss a minute!
Thank you to all the other volunteers who helped make this a fun day - everyone who decorated, helped set up and test the track and run the races.  We could not have these great events without the help of all our volunteers. We hope you enjoyed the races and the results and voting will be revealed at the May Pack meeting!
