September Pack Meeting and Popcorn Fun!

We had a great time at the September Pack Meeting to kick off the year. Our Popcorn Kernal had some fantastic games to get us excited about popcorn sales. We learned about the prizes, did our very own taste test and practiced selling at a mock popcorn table!  I hope you are eager to get going with your popcorn sales, as they fund so much of what Pack 33 can do throughout the year. We also welcomed 6 new scouts, which is fantastic!  Looking forward to next month's meeting!

Pack 33 marched in the Memorial Day Parade to pay its respects to all the men and women of the armed services who have paid an enormous price defending our liberty. It was a beautiful day and the Pack did a great job during the numerous stops, speeches and band performances throughout the morning. The event was topped off with free ice cream for all scouts from the ice cream truck.

Old Sturbridge Village Overnight - 4/28/19

posted Aug 7, 2019, 11:19 AM by Pack 33 Admin

Scout Days at OSV offer Scout troops and their families the opportunity to explore Old Sturbridge Village and participate in hands-on activities. This is a great opportunity for Scouts to gain exposure to many aspects of 1830s New England life in an interactive way. Pack 33 enjoyed an evening of tours and activities throughout the museum. The evening was topped off with a lantern walk through OSV and stories by a roaring bonfire. We're already looking forward to next year!

Pack 33 Joins in WCLT's Earth Day Clean-Up in Westborough

posted Apr 17, 2019, 11:16 AM by Pack 33 Admin   [ updated Aug 7, 2019, 11:20 AM ]

On April 13, Pack 33 joined in for the town-wide Earth Day Clean-up. Thanks to all of the scouts who helped -- your impact was tremendous! Please see the note below from the WCLT.

"On behalf of the Westborough Community Land Trust, I want to extend a sincere thanks to you and your pack for your hard work on the Earth Day cleanup effort on SaturdayThe area I assigned you to was a very difficult one because it had never been on our cleanup list before. I was notified about how bad it was by our town's conservation officer, who was concerned because our town has well heads for our drinking water supply in there, and he saw how people had been dumping in the area when he went in there to check on them. Your group rose to the task, even requesting additional bags so you could keep working after filling the ones you were initially given. You can all be very proud of yourselves."

Pinewood Derby 2019

posted Apr 17, 2019, 10:58 AM by Pack 33 Admin

On March 16, 2019 Pack 33 had their annual Pinewood Derby event. It was a great time and we were able to get all of the races in, even with a few technical difficulties!

A hardy congratulations to Calum McArthur as our overall winner.  And a big cheer for sibling Natalie Tremblay for her second place overall win.

Thank you to Kevin Hayes for putting these results together for us, and for all the hard work at the event.  We really cannot thank him enough.  Kevin was really in the hot seat, running fussy software, and helped us pull off a great Pinewood Derby.  We could not have done it without him.  So thank you, Kevin.

And thank you to all the other volunteers who helped make this a fun day - Mary Johnston for all her amazing decorations, everyone that helped at the concession stand, everyone that helped clean up (what a quick breakdown and cleanup), and everyone that helped set up and test the track and run the races.  We could not have these fun events without the help of all our volunteers.
