January 2020 Freeze Out

Post date: Mar 05, 2020 8:8:50 PM

Pack 33 had our annual Freeze Out camping at the Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury on the weekend of Jan 25 - 26. We met around 11am, did an opening flag ceremony and then cooked and ate lunch. Afterwards, the pack went on a hike and then worked on a rustic frame project when they returned to Henderson Lodge. The scouts had some time to run around and check out the site while the Webelos helped prepare dinner which was pasta and Jambalaya in a cast iron Ductch oven, prepared on a fire. Because of weather, the fire program took place indoors that night with skits, songs and a story by Mr. Clegg. The Scouts made orange cakes (baked a cake in a hallowed out orange) and then a few headed off to Webelos Woods rustic cabin (no heat, water or bathroom). One hardy scout slept in a tent!  We hope you enjoy the pictures from the weekend and look forward to seeing you all again for our freeze out next year!
